2016 Annual Appeal

Students in Manchester and Essex are doing exciting things in their classrooms, on the field, and in their communities. In fact, 92 percent of last year’s Manchester Essex graduates were able to continue those endeavors at a college or university. Among them, almost half received scholarships from the Manchester Essex Education Fund. For the past 42 years, the Manchester Essex Education Fund has helped families in Manchester, and now Essex, lessen the cost of higher education by awarding scholarships based on merit and need.

National data indicates that an average of 70 percent of students graduate from college with student loans often exceeding $35,000. Locally, we all know families that are scrambling to map out funding strategies that do not involve burdening their children with overwhelming debt after college. The work of the Fund matters and each year, as our donor list and endowment grows, we are able to both broaden and deepen our scholarship gifts.

If you donated in the past, thank you! We appreciate your continued support. You can contribute to the Friends of the Manchester Essex Education Fund or to a named fund—the choice is yours. Thank you for visiting our updated website where you can make a donation. We also accept in-kind gifts.

We encourage you to join your Manchester and Essex neighbors in supporting our graduating students’ college aspirations and career goals through a donation to the Fund.
